SimHQ have posted a review of the latest Intel speed king - the P4 3.2GHz CPU.
Our multiplier is 16. So we have 200 * 16 = 3200 or 3.20GHz. AMD released their own ‘equivalent’ Athlon 3200+ a few weeks ago. It was a strong chip overall but we did find that it had some trouble keeping up with Intel’s 3GHz flagship CPU running on their newest 875P “Canterwood” 875P chipset driven motherboard. Both AMD and Intel are now running dual-channel DDR400 which is giving both companies excellent RAM performance.
ATI have released the Catalyst 3.5 driver/control panel set. Improvements include: Performance Improvements: As with most CATALYST releases, the performance has increased in numerous situations. Here are some examples observed in CATALYST version 3.5. Improvements in the ATI OpenGL drivers have experienced performance gains such as: • GL Excess performance improves 12-14% on the RADEON 9700 PRO and 9800 PRO. Modest benefits are noticed on our other graphic products as well • Unigraphics performance (ViewPerf Ugs-03) improves 27% on the RADEON 9800 PRO, 52% on the RADEON 9700 PRO, and 79% on the RADEON 9500 PRO • Data Explorer performance (ViewPerf DV-08) improves 9% on RADEON 9800 PRO, and the RADEON9700 PRO. The RADEON 9500 PRO improves by 14.5%
Some compatibility/stability fixes include: • Playing the game Nascar Racing 2003 in OpenGL mode no longer results in the display going black. • Playing the game Serious Sam 2 with the display resolution set to 1024x768 32bpp no longer results in the wrong OpenGL renderer being listed when setting the graphics to OpenGL. • Enabling Pixel Shaders in the game Asheron's Call 2 no longer results in display corruption appearing as the game is played. • Playing the game Project IGI2: Covert Strike with a RADEON 9700 series card installed in the system results in the ground terrain disappearing and re-appearing as the character is moved. •Running the ATI Tranquility screen saver found at DriverHeaven, on an ATI RADEON 9000 series card, no longer results in the system not responding under Windows XP.

Quote: The fuel gauge ticks upwards and at 10,600 lbs I get the order to disconnect. With over 8000 extra pounds of fuel the flight characteristics of the aircraft have changed and the flashing flight path marker at the bottom of the HUD shows me that I'm flying very nose high. Time to get down into denser air. I push the stick forwards and dive away from the tanker, skimming the tops of the clouds as I point my nose northwards towards the Crimea.
NaturalPoint, makes of the very popular TrackIR device have announced a new copmlimentary product that makes TrackIR more accurate and keeps the sun out of your eyes!
NaturalPoint increases the accuracy and ease of use of the trackir with THE NEW trackHat.
NaturalPoint, the leading manufacturer of head tracking systems for PC games, announced today the long-anticipated release of its new trackHat. Designed for use with the company’s popular trackIR head tracking device, the trackHat is a stylish and practical fashion accessory critical to any trackIR user’s wardrobe.
The new trackHat eliminates the need for the trackIR’s reflective dots. Instead, users can simply wear the black-and-silver pilot-style hat whenever they want to use their trackIR.
The trackHat also increases the reliability and accuracy of the trackIR by placing a larger reflective area further away from the user’s center of rotation, or as it is more commonly called, ‘head’. Says Jim Richardson, NaturalPoint’s president: “We’re really excited to be offering the trackHat- it’s one of the most common requests we get from users. No more going to dinner with a silver circle on your forehead!”
The trackHat is immediately available from the NaturalPoint store at games.naturapoint.com/store/store.wp2 at a special introductory price of $19.95.
For more information on the NaturalPoint trackIR, visit www.naturalpoint.com, or call 1-888-865-5535.

I can confirm that we will have AND will use FS2004 (gold edition) on our demonstrations at Waddington AS. This as far as I know is the first showing of this product to the big public.
Our sponsor MS Belgium has send us the flightsim and in the next couple of days our 2 MSFS virtual pilots are looking at the posiblilities to make a demonstration on the sim. We are also very lucky to have an ex-AWACS operator who is helping our people out with this matter and he will also be coming with us to the show.
We are even considering (not confirmed yet) to have interactivity on this sim with 1 pc while the main interactivity for the public will be flown on IL2FB with a competition (with prices from microsoft, hehehe nooop sry no FS2004 yet, lol).
Our own team will show demonstrations on Falcon 4.0SP3, IL2FB and offcourse a demo on FS2004 and one on 2002.

Additionally you can also download the chatlog transcript of Frugal's second StarChat from the Chat@FlightHangar server.
HD1.Net has been updated. It now contains all of the photographs that were on the original site, and I am hard at work scanning some photographs of the USS Harry S. Truman as I type.
The talented individuals at Project I3D have released a small patch to remedy the auto-wing sweep problem that some people have been experiencing.
Hi guys, been receiving a lot of e.mails regarding the winds auto-sweeping in FS2002.. we were origionally aware of this problem during the beta stages of the aircraft .. however, it was fixed, by remocing a guage from the panel.. so the wings/flaps could be operated as normal.. If you are experiencing the problem, ive figured it out, somehow the old CFG for back intot he public system.. you need to download this Panel cfg and place it into the panel folder in the B1B Folder in the FS2002 Aircraft directory
