I have posted BBalls review of 767 Pilot In Command. Here's a snippet:
One might ask the question: "Why has it taken you so long BBall...this thing was released many moons ago?" Quite frankly, I’ve been waiting for them to make it compatible with FS2002, and since they released a patch to do just that several months ago; here I am. Let me mention that this thing was coded for FS2000 and with the patch, it (mostly) works in FS2002. The one big exception to that statement is the “adventure scenarios”, they only work in FS2000. “Adventure Scenarios”, eh? I dare say that blown tires, engine failures and the like wouldn’t be my (or any other airline pilot’s) idea of an “adventure”, I would more likely to call them “emergencies” or “abnormals”. By the way, the text on the box that reads “Experience the thrills of an airline captain” pertains to those “adventures” awaiting you, and not to the bad hotels, ugly food, odd hours, gray hair, wrinkles, and the lurking divorce lawyers that sum up some of the “thrills” we real world airline captains experience (at least I don’t think it does :)
On Monday, December 02, 2002, we lost one of the most well liked and prominent people in the Falcon 4.0 and simulation gaming communities. Our dear friend Greg 'Dominator' Myers will be greatly missed. Whilst we all offer our deepest condolences to Greg's wife Amy and his 4 children, condolences alone won't put food on the table or pay the bills during this incredibly difficult time.
As a community we are trying to raise as much as possible to help Amy and the children get through this difficult time. You can help, both by making a donation HERE Or by spreading the word by placing the following code in your sig on the forums
At the time this was posted the total raised so far is 1,097 US Dollars. There is also an ongoing auction for my personal Frugal's World Tee Shirt HERE.
You can keep a track of the total amount rasied HERE
Mark Roberts has posted a review for AVSim of Larimar Research's latest version of X-Plane. Here's a snippet:
"The flight went great. I got my weather, fired up the Airbus and headed up to FL350. Enroute I saw a lot of traffic around me. The AI traffic is plentiful and a couple actually set off my TCAS. As I approached Dallas I transitioned onto the approach at Ft Smith on the Bonham Three Arrival. All the fixes, NDBs, and VORs were as published. About 30 miles from the airport I requested the DFW ATIS and was giving it in text and voice format. Windows XP comes standard with this feature. If you have an older operating system, you will have to download it from Microsoft. I was given local weather, altimeter, and runway in use. Three Five Left was the active. Requesting ILS 35L is done by hitting the enter key, scrolling down to request ILS, then down to 35L DFW. I was given vectors south of the airport, descent to 2,000 feet and easy turns back to intercept the ILS about 10 miles south of the airport. From the picture you can see Dallas Fort Worth International and my biggest dislike. There is nothing at DFW. The taxiways and runways are pretty well placed—but there's no building."
